| As you know that we in our pursuit of serving the Sikh cause have
undertaken many projects and activities. In order to move forward on these projects, we
need your generous tax-deductible financial contributions. In order to make giving simpler
for you, we are constantly looking for creative means of fundraising. One such way is to
solicit tax-deductible donations from you through United Way Silicon Valley. United Way
is a non-profit organization that facilitates charitable contributions through employee
payrolls and forwards them to the charity designated by the donor. If you work for a
private company, please check with your personnel department if they have a tie-up with
United Way.
United Way will directly collect your charitable donation (the amount designated by
you, for example $50.00 every pay period) from your payroll and forward it to us.
Depending upon various factors, your company may even agree to match the amount you plan
to give us through United Way.
We will maintain full accounting of the contributions we receive from your payroll
through United Way and to make it even better, you can exchange your contributions for
books, videos, CDs and any other item from our online shop. Furthermore, at the end
of the year, you will receive a receipt from us for your tax deduction.
If you are self employed or have your own business, then also you can use United Way to
donate to us. Just call United Way and ask them to start collecting the amount of your
choice directly from your bank account at the date of your choice every month.
