The Real Nanak

By Jaswant Zafar

Jaswant Zafar’s, pen visualizes Baba Nanak as the prophet who travelled thousands of miles braving the heat and cold of nature. He attempts to free Baba Nanak from the beautiful paintings of Sobha Singh. Zafars Nanak has his calves covered with the dust of long journeys, cracked heels, beard having the imprint of dust storms, skin dried up by the desert winds and icy breezes. What is your image of Baba Nanak?
