Diversity Video Competition 2012 – My Crown – My Faith
July 28th, 2012 | Published in People & Events
Attention all Filmmakers:

Are you tired of being looked at negatively because you are Sikh?
Are you interested in filmmaking?
Create awareness. Make a difference
We are inviting you to create a video for the Sikh Coalition’s 3rd Annual Diversity Video Competition.
Topic: My Crown, My Faith.
How does it feel to be a Sikh? Why don’t you try! Walk a mile in our shoes!
Filmmakers are encouraged to create a 5 minute video (or less) which depicts a non-Sikh adorning/wearing a Sikh turban for a day, and presenting himself/herself as a Sikh. The turban is a Sikh article of faith, and should always be treated with respect. The film should capture the reactions of passersby, friends, and family members. Pre and post interviews with main characters are encouraged.
Submission Deadline: September 30, 2012
Only you can help non-Sikhs understand what it feels like to look “different”. By creating this video, you are helping to spread awareness about the turban, and its deep significance to a Sikh.
This year’s first place winner gets $1500 and will have his/her film premiered at the Sikh Arts and Film Festival in NYC in November!
